Golf Jargon

Vijay doesn’t care if, for the second year in a row, the race for the FedEx Cup was pretty much over well before the PGA Tour expected it to end. Johnny Miller put a smile on my face yesterday after one of Vijay’s swings – he said he’s swinging like it was worth $10M. I’m looking forward to a break in televised golf coverage. Its fun watching the pro’s remarkable talent and fantasizing what it’d be like to be able to play at that level.

One thing I won’t miss is the constant chatter by the talking head commentators and the jargon they’ve developed. The one that gets to me the most is “it’s a makeable putt”. Come on, they’re on the green with flat stick in hand. Define un-makeable! They’re all makeable but the odds may not be in their favor.

Geez…..
