In November, AirTran will launch service at Detroit Metro – not good news for Northwest. If you recall, Southwest did something similar in Philadelphia and the effect on US Airways was devastating.
I’m not saying the same will happen in Detroit but Northwest already competes with Spirit, Southwest, and America West. The last thing they need is another LCC.
