I suspect that if you don’t already have it, you will soon get the itch to travel somewhere. If you do, be aware that rates this year are up on just about everything. Europeans are looking at the weak US dollar as a bargain and are gobbling up hotel room nights here in America at a fever pitch.
While there’s not much you can do about higher hotel and tour rates, you can possibly score a low air fare. Remember the ultra cheap fare on Air Pacific between Los Angeles and Fiji for $0, or San Jose to Paris for $27.98 on United?
Go to FareAlert.net and sign up. They won’t send you information about low fares, but will send you notification when something out of the ordinary shows up.
Typically, these ridiculously low fares are the result of some sort of human error and the airlines and onlines aren’t obliged to honor them if a reasonable person recognizes it as a mistake.
