The genie is out of the bottle – earlier today, Sabre announced they bought IgoUgo, a web site devoted to travel journals and reviews of trips and destinations.
The site now has a search capability that is specific to travel so if you search for Java, you only get travel related content. I’m certain that there will be some ongoing modifications to the search engine since a search for Paris Hilton still turns up one result on the trollop, not the French city or the hotel chain.
I have written earlier bits (here and here) about IgoUgo and I think objective vertical search in the travel space is a great move.
