There was a piece in the WSJ awhile back about specialty blogs – specifically travel blogs. The kind where you can plan your trip, write about it, and make recommendations on what you enjoyed and why and why someone might like to try the same thing – something that’s sorely missing – good advice.
The article mentioned two sites, IgoUgo and MyTripJournal.com. I’m already registered with IgoUgo and did a short write-up about it also, so I decided to have a look at MyTripJournal. Their trip blogs are searchable – type in a keyword and see what turns up.
They’ve created templates – similar concept (obviously different look and feel) as IgoUgo and they are running a 45 day free trial. After that, it’s as little as $19 for a 60 day web site and as much as $89 for an annual subscription.
I’d like to see them evolve the site into some of their more popular destinations and, perhaps vacation themes.
