American Airlines will be challenged by ATA in the Dallas / Fort Worth to Los Angeles market effective in early July. In a preemptive move, American will today announce a simplified fare structure with one way fares as low as $99 each way; the rate already in effect for ATA’s upcoming service.
If you’re wondering how American will make up for the drastic change, look no farther than the Dallas / Fort Worth to Phoenix market – the old fare of $203 is now $300. It’s no wonder that people are leaving the majors in droves for the lower cost carriers.
